Open Wagons

Following closure of the "Réseau des Bains de Mer," the CFBS preserved several types of former S.E. open wagons that were used for carrying goods on the Somme network, 6 in total.

They carried bulk produce and sugar beet.
In 2016, 3 of them were «deconstructed» in view of their parlous condition. Whatever parts could be salvaged were placed in storage, with a view to rebuilding the wagons in the future.
During the 1980s, 4 Swiss open wagons were delivered to the CFBS, they are used for service or work trains.
One of them has been restored to its original condition and is part of the historic goods train.
