This carriage has two open end-balconies, while N° 201 has only one, at the opposite end to the luggage compartment.
Bf 22 and Bf 27, BDf 26
Formerly from the Chemin de Fer Yverdon-Sainte-Croix
Built 1893 by SIG Neuhausen
They were modified and modernized in 1907 and in 1924.
They arrived in 1982 on the CFBS.
Originally, Bf 27 featured a luggage compartment that was converted by the CFBS to increase the seating capacity of the carriage. Bf 22 et 27 can seat 40 passengers each; BDf 26 can seat 24 passengers.
All three carriages have open end-balconies.
In 2004, to cope with the growing number of passengers, the CFBS bought a batch of 6 carriages from the Swiss Berner Oberland Bahn (BOB) railway in the Bern canton, taking advantage of this stock having been made redundant. These were the last Swiss carriages to be still fitted with open end-balconies, a feature that is very popular with our passengers.
